Snapdragon Ramen Noodles: My Favorite Food

I'm like 99% sure I have autism. I have a lot of autistic traits, my childhood was very autistic (save that I was speaking by age 2), and I score a 172 on the RAADS-R test. I've never been diagnosed, but every diagnosed autistic I've ever met has identified me as a fellow autistic.

One of the many, many reasons I'm convinced that I'd autistic is that autistic people often have specific foods we gravitate towards and almost obsess over. It's why an autistic child might only ever want to eat chicken nuggets (or in my case salad - I was a weird child). I can eat the same foods every day for months on end and not get sick of them.

Recently I have acquired a new favorite food. Something I can eat any time, something I want to eat all the time. Snapdragon brand ramen noodles. It's a cup of noodles with a seasoning sauce, dehydrated veggies, and spicy oil. It comes in three flavors, at least as far as my grocery store offers: tonkatsu (pork), miso, and chicken. The tonkatsu is the best one, in my opinion, but they're all very good. The chicken flavor's seasoning packet is a powder instead of a sauce, but it's still very tasty.

I think these noodles are great for a number of reasons. First is taste: I love how they taste and feel. The texture of the noodles, which is very important to me, is perfect. Second is convenience: It's in a paper cup, so the only dishes you need to dirty are your fork or chopsticks. I use my electric kettle to prepare the water and it's very simple. There's an aspect of waiting for short amounts of time (time for the water to boil, time for the noodles to cook), but I usually just go sit in the living room looking at social media or blogs on my phone for a few minutes while I wait, so that's not a big deal to me. These noodles are easy and relatively cheap ($2 per cup, which is a little expensive compared to the ramen packets I'm more familiar with, but still not too far out of my price range).

I think if there are anything that people wouldn't like about these noodles, as long as you like ramen noodles to begin with, it could be a few things. I think they're probably decently high in sodium, because I like them, and my taste in salt is "yes please". So they're probably pretty high in salt. But that's a plus for me because I like salt a lot. They're also a little small. I could eat twice as much as the amount that comes in one cup (and I did a few weeks ago - I put both cups into a big bowl and made both of them together, it was great). Another thing might be the price, you can get two 6-packs of the Maruchan ramen noodles for just over the price of two cups of Snapdragon (at least at my local grocery). They are more expensive than some other ramen options, but I think they're worth it.

I like these noodles so much I had two today. This might seem like a silly thing to be obsessive over, but in a scary world sometimes you cling to silly things. For me, it's noodles. What's your thing?
